The following is a quote from Ray Comfort, which appeared in today’s Living Waters e-newsletter. Along with a couple other emotions, my friend Ray Comfort’s words brought encouragement to me.
“‘Friendly fire’ can be as deadly as an enemy bullet. Always be mindful that opposition can come from the closest of friends and family. They are the ones who can wound you if you let your guard down and forget that our struggle is not against other people (see Ephesians 6:12–20). It was Peter who attempted to discourage Jesus from going to the cross. But Jesus knew the source of the opposition (Matthew 16:23). Do the same in your heart when opposed in such a way. Keep your shield of faith held high.”
