Today I was blessed with the opportunity of preaching the chapel message at Unity Christian School, in Fulton, IL. The invitation came through the school’s choir director, Paul Hopkins.
My daughter, Michelle, joined me for this ministry opportunity and was kind enough to take a few pictures.
The chapel service was attended by junior high and high school students, teachers, and staff–about 50 in all.
The school’s theme this year is “Equipped for Battle, Empowered for Victory” (Ephesians 6:10-11). I was asked to bring a message in keeping with that theme. So, with Ephesians 6:10-20 as my text, I preached a message titled “Wearing and Using the Armor of God.”
In the message, I asked those in attendance two questions: “Do you have the faith to legitimately wear the armor of God? And, if you do, do you have the boldness to use it? With these two questions in mind, I preached the gospel, challenged the students (and others) to consider the authenticity of their faith in Christ, and challenged them to boldly communicate the gospel to the lost people around them.
