The Repent Bethel Redding blog is dedicated to warning both the saved and the lost about the unbiblical teachings and practices of Bethel Redding and its associated ministries. This blog is dedicated to calling all who believe the false teachings of Bethel Redding, which includes the group’s ongoing blasphemy of the Holy Spirit–attributing to the Holy Spirit that which is not of Him, to repentance. And, this blog is dedicated to bringing the truth of God’s Word to all who have been captivated by and are held captive to the Bethel Redding cult.
The Bethel Redding cult worships an entity they call “Holy Spirit.”
I encourage you to watch this video of a sermon I’ve now preached a few times, and will preach again. I believe it is a biblical depiction of the work of the Holy Spirit. While this sermon certainly does not provide an exhaustive look at the Holy Spirit’s ongoing work in the Church, the individual believer, and the world, and while it certainly is not the finest teaching on the subject, I do believe the teaching provided gives ample biblical evidence of who is the true Holy Spirit, enough to show that who the Bethel Redding cult calls “Holy Spirit” is not Him.
Truth is the best antidote for error. Truth about the Holy Spirit is the best antidote for the lies Bethel Redding tells about the Holy Spirit.
I hope this sermon is an encouragement to you.

Thank you dear brother for being faithful in Gods word. I’ve been sharing your material about Bethel and I’ve been accused of causing division, and that this is not blaspheming the Holy Spirit. Could you in brief, explain how Bethel’s behavior and others like it is indeed blasphemous? Maybe your sermon talks about this in your post. I haven’t had the chance to listen. Thanks!

Justin,
Thank you for writing. The default position for many people within the ranks of Charismania is to hurl accusations of being judgmental, causing division, quenching the Spirit, and “touching the Lord’s anointed.”
The reason I believe Bethel Redding and their ilk blaspheme the Holy Spirit is because they are attributing false signs and wonders, which they use to promote a false Word of Faith/Prosperity gospel, to the Holy Spirit. They are boasting of the Holy Spirit working in their midst, when their false god is the “always happy god.” The Holy Spirit comes to convict people of sin, righteousness, and judgment. The Holy Spirit leads God’s people in all truth. The Holy Spirit never seeks glory for Himself, but leads God’s people to worship and glorify King Jesus. This is not the case at Bethel Redding.
I preached this sermon (The Work of the Holy Spirit) at a homeless shelter in Redding, CA–home of the Bethel Redding cult. I hope it will be an encouragement to you.

Tony, found you in my research on bethel, and am going to continue researching and listening to what you have to say. I am learning a lot. Thank you.
I am questioning though what you are saying about Jesus “taking off the hinges of the door”, and taking us to Himself. I understand what you mean by the sovereignty of God, and that no man comes to the Father unless He draws them, but Jesus specifically said, “If any man opens the door…”
The Calvinist/Armenian debate is old, and I used to be far more Armenian than I am now. Over the years, I’ve come to the conclusion that somehow both are true. John Wesley believed that God would do nothing for man unless someone asked Him. Watchman Nee in his book on prayer, as well as Billheimer in his book “Destined for the Throne” show that Jesus wishes to work WITH His bride.
I understand your point, but to make it dogmatic and extreme in your direction is also wrong. Father doesn’t force His will on man’s heart. That’s the whole point of “whosoever believes”. Believes is an action word, and isn’t just a euphemism.
