In July of 2012, after a wonderful, 4 ½-year season of ministry under the leadership of Ray Comfort, at Living Waters, Tony Miano established Cross Encounters Ministries. Tony did not set out to form a new para-church ministry, but rather a simple vehicle for keeping family, friends, and fans apprised of his evangelistic ministry around the world. Cross Encounters Ministries does not have an Advisory Board or a Board of Directors. Tony is accountable to his elders at Faith Community Church (Newhall, CA).
Since the inception of Cross Encounters Ministries, Tony has traveled throughout the United States and to several foreign countries to serve local churches as an itinerant open-air preacher/evangelist, helping to equip the churches to reach their community, city, state, and nation with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The purpose of Cross Encounters Ministries is based on the truth contained in Colossians 1:28-29. The apostle Paul wrote: “Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.” Therefore, the purpose of Cross Encounters Ministries is to proclaim the gospel, disciple Christians in evangelism, and to serve churches by assisting them in their evangelistic efforts.
Tony’s long-term goals for Cross Encounters Ministries are to serve at least one church in the area of evangelism in every state in America, and in at least 25 foreign countries. We want to teach as many Christians as we can to be “fishers of men,” according to their God-given personalities, Spirit-given giftedness, and the present-day context of their lives. Discipleship (including discipleship in evangelism) isn’t cloning. Discipleship is helping other Christians to be conformed to the image of Christ, according to who God has made them. We want to help our brothers and sisters in Christ look more like Jesus Christ and to serve Him however He desires.
Revival-USA provides Cross Encounters Ministries with its financial accountability and its 501c3, non-profit status. Revival-USA is accredited through the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).
The Lord provides the funding for Cross Encounters Ministries, as well as the Miano Family’s financial support, through the generous giving of Christian churches and individuals. The Lord uses the generosity of His people to enable Tony to engage in full-time, evangelistic ministry. The financial support of God’s people also provides Tony with ministry supplies (i.e. gospel tracts, Bibles, sound equipment, studio recording equipment, video equipment, biblical signage, etc.), travel expenses, as well as the necessary funds to keep Cross Encounters Radio on the air.
What Happened with Tony’s Arrest in Scotland?
Cross Encounters Ministries exists to love and glorify Jesus Christ and make His name and His gospel known to the world, to love the Bride of Christ and to serve the Church, and to love the unsaved masses by speaking the truth in love, hoping to be used by God to draw people to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. If you would like to help Tony and the Cross Encounters Ministries team accomplish these Christ-centered goals, please prayerfully consider supporting the work with your financial gift.
