It’s happened many times. When trying to give a gospel tract to a person, man or woman, I have often received the following response: “No thank you. I’m a lesbian (or another term to describe one’s chosen form of sexual deviance).” I believe such responses serve as evidence that “LGBTism” is just another false religion.
It Happened Again
Yesterday, like most Wednesdays during the school year, I spent time engaged in evangelism, near the University of Iowa campus. Several hours on the streets resulted in the distribution of about 250 gospel tracts. I also read Psalm 1-23 in the open-air. The Lord did not bless me yesterday with any conversations with unbelievers. However, it was a wonderful day of ministry.
While distributing gospel tracts I tried to hand a tract to a young lady. She asked me what it was that I was trying to give her. “It’s a gospel tract,” I answered.
“Oh, no thank you.” She said. “I’m lesbian and trans (slang for “transsexual”).
“Then you need Jesus as much as I do,” I replied.
The female student paused and looked at me as if she wanted to say something, but chose to remain silent. Instead, she smiled (she had a sweet smile), turned, and walked away.
The Religious Nature of Her Response
I’ve distributed thousands and thousands of gospel tracts over the years. I’ve had many people from different religions reject the offer of a gospel tract. I know these particular rejections were religious in nature because of what the people said.
“No thank you. I’m Mormon.”
“No thank you. I’m Jewish.”
“No thank you. I’m Muslim.”
“No thank you. I’m an atheist.”
“No thank you. I’m a Roman Catholic.”
And so on…..
The young lady in the above example gave a similar response. “No thank you. “I’m lesbian and trans.” Like the practitioner of a false religion, she cited her beliefs and practices as the reason for not accepting the gospel tract.
The god of Her Religion is Sin and Self
I have never had people enslaved to other particular sins similarly respond to the offer of a gospel tract. In other words, I have never heard responses like this:
“No thank you. I’m a drunkard.”
“No thank you. I’m a blasphemer.”
“No thank you. I’m a murderer-at-heart.”
“No thank you. I’m a disobedient child.”
“No thank you. I’m a thief.”
“No thank you. I’m a liar.”
And so on…..
However, time and time again, I have had people voluntarily enslaved to and by sexual immorality in the form of LGBTism explain that the sin they love is the reason they won’t receive a gospel tract. The reason: LGBTism is a religion.
The god of LGBTism is the god of self. The mode of worship in LGBTism is the practice of self-indulgent sexual immorality involving sins against the body. And this explains why those who practice the religion of LGBTism respond to the offer of the gospel with a religious objection.
She Needs Jesus as Much as I Do
When the University of Iowa student told me she would not take the gospel tract because she was a transsexual lesbian, I said, “Then you need Jesus as much as I do.”
You see; I’m no better than the presently, eternally condemned young woman. I am simply better off. I am better off because I am not who I once was. I’m not who I once was because God saved me by His grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone.
My hope and prayer for the young woman I met is that God has chosen her also for salvation–that she will not remain and one-day die as she is, but will instead be numbered among the “such were some of you.”
“Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God” (1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
I hope the Lord allows her to hear the gospel. I hope she will repent and believe, and be saved.

That’s a great reply, Tony- “then you need Jesus as much as I do”. Bookmarking that for later use, and thanks!

The fact is that the lost need a spiritual birth. They have had a physical birth and as the Lord, Christ Jesus told Nicodemus in the third chapter of John You must be born again. They need a spiritual birth certificate in order to enter all that will give them now and eternally.
